SAP strengthens AI growth areas
In recent years, artificial intelligence has rightfully begun to gain increasing popularity among developers – it is being implemented both in the development of applications and in their design. SAP SE has launched a new end-to-end growth direction focused on artificial intelligence. Dr. Philipp Herzig became the project leader in the new position of Director of Artificial Intelligence (CAIO). The new division is focused on monitoring the entire SAP Business AI value chain. This includes all stages from product development, research to implementation by customers. Since January 2024, Herzig has reported directly to CEO Christian Klein.
“SAP’s increased focus on business AI marks the start of a completely new generation of enterprise innovation, and I’m honored to have the chance to help customers make the most of this unprecedented opportunity,” said Philipp Herzig, CAIO at SAP. “I look forward to working with our team, as well as our ecosystem of customers and partners, to drive the development and delivery of relevant, reliable, responsible business AI that fundamentally changes the way business runs.”
Seagate Technology Holdings plc and S/4HANA
There was a successful launch of SAP S/4HANA and the SAP BW/4HANA solution at Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ: STX). Seagate Technology is a leading innovator of high-capacity storage solutions.
The SAP solution will improve the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, benefiting nearly 30,000 employees worldwide. The system integrates functions such as global manufacturing, supply chain and financial business processes. This is the third step in Seagate’s digital transformation journey: in the past, the company has already implemented SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain and SAP SuccessFactors.
“We chose SAP solutions for our integrated ERP landscape because its strategy closely aligns with our own: to implement a foundational platform on which the business can scale and grow,” said Grace Liu, senior vice president and chief information officer at Seagate.
